BEDETHEQUE TRIGAN SERIES
More than a simple adventure story, this series is a true apology for freedom and the fight against the arbitrary, because what stands out most in Thorgal’s personality is his deep sense of humanity. The tale takes place in the seventh century and draws its narrative power from the imaginary world of magic spells and legends, where men and gods still mix. Thorgal series are also fantastic from the Jean Van Hamme and the great Polish ilustrator Grzegorz Rosiński, Thorgal in specific deals with many themes and legends into one consistent world, from norse mythology and Atlantis myths to science fiction, coliding into a very dark mature drama, horror, and adventure its a series i would totaly recomend. My first comics probably were those, Tintin and Asterix, fantasion and Spirou as a child, and some other of Hugo Pratt works, most notable Corto Maltese series, however the later is defenitly more adult oriented. In Europe the comics are often big sized, and sometimes hard covered, authentic works of art on their own merit and acord, not something you buy in a news stand very often, but something you can buy in art events indoors or outdoors, or book fairs, or of course bookstores. The most tradition of it comes from Belgium, France, and italy as well, with artists and writters being often from across Europe. Nice going Condottiere, my first experience with comics, or bandes as its knowned here were the european ones.
